Alpharetta's Imagix Kids Dental and Orthodontics (Atlanta, Georgia). Objective: Create an enjoyable experience for early-age children and build a foundation for good orthodontic care. Kid-friendly offerings: Imagix offers separate play areas for younger children and teens. The "teen zone" offers controlled Internet access. The "smile zone" is for younger children and features a play area with a slide and Legos. Children are introduced to their doctor with ‘happy visits,’ and are given a tour of the entire facility. Imagix uses puppets and a person dressed in a tooth fairy costume to explain orthodontic procedures. Children are shown how things work. They are introduced to their doctor who turn answers questions and explains the procedure that they will experience. Imagix office staff are trained to speak directly to the child and parent and explain what the patient’s experience will be like and how it feels. Imagix reports providing walk-throughs and screenings with groups of children as young as 2 years old.
